Welcome New Philosophy MA Students,

I am very pleased that you have decided to join our MA program this Fall. We look forward to an exciting year of visiting speakers, graduate seminars, and Student Philosophy Club sponsored events. Please read the important information below.

Orientation Meeting:

We would like to invite you to our orientation meeting for incoming students, Tuesday, September 17th, from 2:00 p.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. It will be held in the Engineering and Technology Building, A406. Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the meeting. Mingle with fellow graduate students and get to know our graduate advisors. Ask us questions about our program! We request that you do two things to prepare for the meeting: 1) Please read about all the MA requirements on our University website /dept/phil/; 2) Bring a copy of your unofficial BA transcript or a list of the philosophy courses you have already completed. This information will enable advisors to figure out which pre-requisites you have already met for our program.

Enrolling in Courses:

Please enroll in Fall courses as soon as you are able to do so. Choose courses that look interesting and will enable you to make progress toward your MA degree. If your decisions aren't perfect, the advisors will be available to help you make adjustments to your Fall schedule if needed.

We look forward to seeing you on September 17th!
