Scholarships Available:
The Department has 7 scholarships for
undergraduate and graduate students.
Requirements:
Each scholarship has different requirements and is
intended to support different students needs.
The Aaron Waters Scholarship is awarded annually to
the most outstanding senior-level undergraduate student.
The Robert Bean Scholarship supports the work of
graduate students in the are of hydrogeology.
The Chance-Dana Scholarship rewards excellence in
geoscience study.
The Perry Ehlig and Liebman-Calseismics Scholarships support
students attending the summer field mapping program.
The Robert Stone Scholarship supports graduate
student research especially in the area of engineering geology.
The Martin Stout Scholarship rewards excellence in
geoscience study.
Application Process:
All students seeking
a scholarship must submit a application to the Scholarship
Office. This is true even for students looking for support
with the summer field program.
Pick up your scholarship application at the
Center
for Student Financial Aid located in the Student Affairs Building
Room SA124.
Provide all appropriate information required by the
Student Financial Aid Office and submit your application in
accordance with their deadlines.
Scholarships for graduate students require a
statement of research plans and goals plus an expense
statement. Please see the Department Graduate Advisor for help
with this. Submit this statement to the Department Chair and
your scholarship application to the Student Financial Aid Office.
