| What is an Alumni Scholarship? |
|
Alumni Scholarships are awarded by the
Alumni Association to
undergraduate students at CSULA who have demonstrated leadership involvement
in the university and in the community.
|
| |
| Who is eligible? |
| An eligible candidate must meet the following
requirements: |
 |
Undergraduate Students |
 |
2.5 or above GPA |
 |
Check with the Alumni
Association for additional details. |
| |
| How do I apply? |
| Pick up an application at the Alumni Association in Room 417
of the University-Student Union, or call the Association at (323)
343-2586 to have one mailed to you. Applications are available at
the beginning of fall quarter. Carefully check your
application deadline. |
| |
| Where does the money come from? |
| Donations and endowments made by alumni
and friends of the University support many Alumni Scholarships. The
Alumni Association itself supports others. |
| |
| How many Alumni Scholarships are given? |
| The number is variable from year to
year. The number is large enough that Geology and Natural
Science majors should apply. |
| |
| Now are the Alumni Scholars selected? |
| Once applications are submitted, the
Alumni Association will verify all appropriate information, including
cumulative GPA and units completed. Then all applications will be
read and evaluated by members of the Alumni Association. Applications
will be evaluated on the basis of financial need, accomplishments,
campus activities, community activities, leadership, letters of recommendation,
essay and overall impression. Screening process will take place in
January and the semi finalists will be invited near the end of
winter quarter to participate in mandatory interviews. After the interviews,
the final candidates will be selected. |
