Southern California Earthquake Center Internships

The Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) has an internship program for students from freshman through graduate student level.  Most students who do a summer internship are juniors and seniors.  Projects are generally geared for geology majors.

Doing a summer internship with SCEC can be an enormously beneficial experience.  At least two of our students have participated in the summer internship program.  Monica Maynard translated Putting Down Roots in Earthquake Country from English to Spanish.  Jack Tung spent a summer assisting with the installation of seismic instruments in southern California.

This is an excellent program that may provide you with a terrific summer.  Application deadlines are in early February.  Check the SCEC website to learn more about this program.
