Graduate Program Application
Process for Criminal Justice and Criminalistics
Applicants must satisfy both
university and school requirements before admission to the
criminalistics or criminal justice graduate degree programs.
Acceptance to the University does not guarantee acceptance to
the School.
Students must complete two
applications: one to the California State University, Los
Angeles (CSULA), and one to the School of Criminal Justice and
Criminalistics.
·
The application to CSULA can be completed and
submitted online through CSUMentor (http://www.csumentor.edu/).
The application to the School, in PDF format,
can be obtained online at
http://www.calstatela.edu/dept/crim_jus/gradprogram.htm.
Applications can also be obtained at the School’s office.
The application can be mailed or hand delivered to the address
provided on the application. The School has one graduate
application, on which the applicant will indicate the specific
degree program of interest.
All applications to the School must be received by March
1st, 2008 for admission to the graduate programs in Fall
Quarter 2008. New criminalistics and criminal justice graduate
students are accepted only in the fall quarter of each
academic year.
Grade Point Average:
·
For admission to the School’s graduate programs, a
minimum grade point average of 3.0 in the last 90 quarter units
(or last 60 semester units) and 3.0 in the undergraduate major
are required for consideration.
Graduate Record Exam:
·
For admission to the School’s graduate programs,
applicants are required to have an acceptable Graduate Record
Exam (GRE) score. Applicants must arrange to take the GRE and
have their scores sent directly to the school by the Educational
Testing Service.
Transcripts:
·
Transcripts from all colleges and universities
attended must be submitted with the school application in
addition to the transcripts required by the Office of
University Admission and Outreach (CSULA application).
Applications to the School’s
graduate degree programs will not be considered until all of the
above conditions are met.
