REGISTRATION AND TICKETS

TICKETING INFORMATION

By reserving guest tickets, graduating candidates are confirming their participation in the Commencement ceremonies. It is the graduating candidate's responsibility to reserve tickets during Grad Fair on April 10 and 11, 2019, or online starting April 22, 2019, at 8 a.m. (PT) until May 3, 2019, at 5 p.m. (PT). After the May 3rd deadline date and time, all eligible candidates are not guaranteed to be able to participate in the ceremonies and/or able to obtain guest tickets.

IMPORTANT: Due to safety, security, and capacity constraints all guests attending the ceremonies, including infants and children, will require a ticket to enter the venue. A ticket does not guarantee a seat. Saving seats is not permitted. Parties should enter together. Once the venue reaches capacity, guests will be directed to the alternate viewing location. The alternate viewing location do not require a ticket to attend.  
 

Please note that Commencement tickets are FREE and are not for sale. Tickets that are sold or bought are not authorized and are subject to invalidation by the University. Each ticket has a unique bar code and is specific to a ceremony. Once a bar code has been scanned, any copies of the same ticket will not be valid and will not allow entry into the gymnasium.

GRAD FAIR

In early spring, candidates who graduated fall 2018 semester and winter 2019 intersession, and projected graduates for spring 2019 semester, and summer 2019 term will be invited to attend Grad Fair at the Golden Eagle Ballrooms on April 10 and 11, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Grad Fair will be the first opportunity for eligible graduating candidates to register to participate in the ceremonies and reserve guest tickets.

Instructions during Grad Fair:

  • Swipe your Cal State LA I.D. (if candidate does not have their Cal State LA I.D., enter the CIN number in the entry field)
  • Click on the ceremony or ceremonies that you are assigned to
  • Reserve the number of guest tickets needed based on your allotment
  • Click on Checkout until reservation is complete
  • Once tickets have been reserved, log out
  • There is NO printing at the event and the tickets are automatically emailed to the Cal State LA email address

For fall 2018 and winter 2019 graduates, their Cal State LA email must be forwarded to an email address used regularly. Depending on their email security settings, confirmation emails are sometimes forwarded to the spam folder.

If the candidate receives an error message during Grad Fair, it is due to one of the following issues:

  • candidate entered the incorrect information in the entry fields
  • graduation application was received after April 4, 2019
  • graduation application is still under review
  • candidate is not eligible to participate

AFTER GRAD FAIR

Eligible graduating candidates who missed Grad Fair, and were unable to register to participate by reserving guest tickets, will be able to register online on April 22, 2019, at 8 a.m. (PST) until May 3, 2019, at 5 p.m. (PT) by clicking on the REGISTRATION AND TICKET RESERVATION section below. After the May 3rd deadline date and time, all eligible candidates are not guaranteed to be able to participate in the ceremonies and/or able to obtain guest tickets.

ALTERNATE VIEWING

Once the venue reaches capacity, guests will be directed to the alternate viewing location at Golden Eagle Ballrooms 1 & 2 at the Golden Eagle building, 3rd floor, where each ceremony will be livestreamed. Guests who are unable to obtain a ticket can also watch the ceremony from this location. No tickets are required, seating is first-come, first-served.

LIVESTREAM

From May 20 - 24, 2019, each ceremony will be livestreamed online. Guests who are unable to attend but still want to view the festivities can visit www.calstatela.edu and watch the ceremonies from their computer, laptop, or mobile device.

TICKET ALLOTMENT

Graduating candidates are allotted up to seven (7) tickets during Grad Fair OR during the online registration period of April 22, 2019, at 8 a.m. (PT) until May 3, 2019, at 5 p.m. (PT). Graduating candidates with dual majors will receive the same allocation if both are being conferred during the same ceremony. If the dual major is conferred at a different ceremony, the candidate is eligible to participate in both ceremonies. Tickets are non-transferable to other ceremony dates and times.

After the May 3rd deadline date and time, all eligible candidates are not guaranteed to be able to participate in the ceremonies and/or able to obtain guest tickets. Additional tickets cannot be requested by email or phone call. Please see the ADDITIONAL TICKETS section below for information on how to obtain additional tickets if available.

ADDITIONAL TICKETS INFORMATION

Additional tickets (if available) will only be distributed on Friday, May 10, 2019, online starting at 8 a.m. (PT) by clicking on the REGISTRATION AND TICKET RESERVATION section below.

Please note that additional tickets are not guaranteed to be available for all ceremonies. After May 3, 2019, at 5 p.m. (PT) all unused tickets (if available) will be pooled. Candidates who reserved during Grad Fair OR during the open registration period will receive an email notification on Monday, May 6, regarding the status of additional tickets and instructions to reserve them. Additional tickets are first come first served and once they are all reserved, no additional tickets will be distributed.

REGISTRATION AND TICKET RESERVATION

Online registration to participate by reserving guest tickets: April 22, 2019, at 8 a.m. (PT) until May 3, 2019, at 5 p.m. (PT)

Additional tickets (if available) will only be distributed on Friday, May 10, 2019, starting until 8 a.m. (PT) until quantities last.

To view and re-print tickets OR to reserve additional tickets, click on the ticket icon below and you will be directed to the online ticketing system through © University Tickets. Only graduating candidates who registered during Grad Fair or during the ticketing reservation period of April 22 - May 3 will be able to reserve additional tickets on May 10.

When additional tickets are available on May 10 at 8 a.m., due to a high volume of users at the same time, you might be placed on a virtual hold. The system will provide you access, once it is your turn based on your queue. Please make sure your phone and/or browser is compatible with the ticketing system. Additional tickets are first come, first served and it does not guarantee that all candidates will be able to reserve one.
