As part of the CSU Chancellor's Office Quality Assurance Program, CETL will be awarding grants to Cal State L.A. faculty, staff, and administrators to attend online professional development workshops provided by Quality Matters (QM). Quality Matters is a nationally recognized, faculty-centered, peer review process designed to certify the quality of online course design and online components. The QM Rubric is used in course reviews that result in continuous improvement and faculty development.
Faculty interested in course redesign to a flipped, hybrid, or fully online course for Q2S are encouraged to apply. We are currently awarding workshop grants for Fall 2015 and Winter 2016. Each workshop is fully online and takes place over a designated 2 week period. Workshops take between 8-15 hours per week to complete. (Workshop dates are listed in the link below.)
Quality Matters offers a range of online workshops such as:
- Teaching Online: An Introduction to Online Delivery (TOL)
- Designing Your Online Course (DYOC)
- Designing Your Blended Course (DYBC)
- Applying the QM Rubric (APPQMR)
If you are interested in receiving one of these training grants valued between $150 - $250, please complete our Quality Matters Interest List at http://sgiz.mobi/s3/398c2b9eb48a. There are a limited number of workshop grants and priority will be given to applicants that have not received a QM grant in the past.
Feel free to contact Beverly Bondad-Brown (firstname.lastname@example.org) with additional questions. We hope you consider taking advantage of this free professional development.
