Earning a Special Education Intern Credential in the Urban Learning Major

The Charter College of Education at Cal State L.A. offers a unique opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Learning while also earning an Education Specialist Intern credential. The Urban Learning program (ULRN) is an innovative undergraduate major that meets the growing demand for universities to create programs that produce credentialed elementary and special education teachers prepared to teach in the urban schools of Los Angeles.

The Urban Learning major offers students the opportunity to study:

The Urban Learning Program is fast-paced; candidates may earn a bachelor’s degree and an Education Specialist (special education) intern credential or Multiple Subject (elementary education) credential in four years.

The Education Specialist minor allows students to earn a credential in one of four areas:
