SCHOOL/DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Los Angeles Writing Project provides professional development programs designed to improve writing and the teaching of writing at all grade levels and in all disciplines. Workshop presenters are classroom teachers who have received training through Writing Project's Summer Institute. Presentations can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the school or school districts and can include such areas as:

Teaching Writing as a Process
Writing Workshops
Teaching Writing and Reading to English Language Learners
Writing Assessment
Preparing for the High School Exit Exam

OPEN COURSES

Through the CSULA Extended Education Program, we will periodically offer Open Courses taught by teachers who are members of the Cal State LA Writing Project, expert teachers of writing. Sample course titles are as follows:

Teaching Literary Analysis to Secondary Students
Teaching the Craft of Writers Workshop
