Student Prizes Available for Research on Genders and Sexualities

The Center for the Study of Genders and Sexualities announces its annual competition for Student Research Prizes. Cal State LA students who research issues concerning gender and sexuality—in the humanities, arts, performing arts, sciences, and social sciences— are invited to apply. Selected student winners will each receive a $500 prize. Graduate students and upper-division undergraduates are eligible to apply. Creative projects are welcome. Student winners are required to present their research at the CSGS Student Research Conference on April 12, 2019.

 

Application Deadline: Friday, November 30, 2018 for best consideration.

 

Instructions for applying:

Send abstracts of 250 words or less (and please include a title if appropriate) to Dr. Dionne Espinoza, Director, at [email protected] no later than 5PM on Friday, November 30. Please include at the top of your abstract your name, your contact information (email address), and your program of study. When you email your proposal, please place in the subject line your first and last name followed by “Paper Proposal”

Notifications of prizewinners will be sent ASAP. Submitters are encouraged to be explicit about how their work engages issues of gender and sexuality and about how the work constitutes an original intervention in their field(s).
