Note that Math 206 and 207 count for both major and minor. Do NOT take Math 230 instead of Math 207. In addition, Math 474 and Math 475 can be selected as courses in the 12-unit upper division non-biology electives and double count.

For the 12 units upper division electives, the following courses are recommended:

  • Math 320 Selected Topics in History of Mathematics (Math 207 [co-requisite])
  • Math 325 Mathematical Notation and Proof (Math 208)
  • Math 401 Differential Equations (Math 209, Math 255, Math 325)
  • Math 455 Modern Algebra I (Math 255, Math 325)
  • Math 465 Advanced Calculus I (Math 209, Math 325)
  • Math 472 Linear Programming (Math 255)
  • Math 474 Theory of Probability (Math 209)
  • Math 475 Introduction to Mathematical Statistics (Math 474)
  • Math 484 Graph Theory (Math 248 or consent of instructor, Math 325)
