The Hot Spring of Nanxi

The Hot Spring of Nanxi is located 70 km from the Ninghai County southeast of Ningbo. The Hot Spring Area lies in the adjacent part of the Tian Tai and Siming Mountains covering a forest area of about 10,000 mu (about 700 hectares). The area has four major natural scenic divisions: the Valley of Sleeping Dragon, the Valley of Gods, the Valley of Oriels and the Valley of Colors, which contain three pools, nine waterfalls, eighteen streams and seventy-two peaks. The unique natural environment offers a perfect summer resort.

The Hot Spring has rich geothermal energy resources. The spring water, 49.5¡æ in all seasons, comes 158 meters down from the underground and the daily output is over 1,200 tons. The clean, clear and tasteless water with weak base contains over 20 mineral elements, of which radon forms the major part, together with lithium and fluorine. Frequent bathing in the hot spring helps to improve one¡¯s good looks and remove exhaustion and it has particular curative effect for diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, nervous system diseases, arteriosclerosis, hypertension, internal system diseases, rheumarthritis and skin diseases. The Hot Spring Villa now has buildings of over 9500 sq. meters, more than 300 beds of various standards, 9 restaurants of different styles, which can offer services to above 350 quests at the same time, as well as other supplementary facilities.

The name of the Villa ¡°Hot Spring of Nanxi¡± was inscribed by Mr. Guo Moruo, who stayed here in 1964.

The Hot Spring of Nanxi in the Tianming Mountain is Zhejiang¡¯s famous place for summer resort and recuperation.
