Xiangshan District -- Ninghai
Economic Development Zone of Zhejiang Province
 Situated
in the middle coastal part of east Zhejiang Province between Sanmen Bay and Xiangshan
Harbor, Ninghai is one of the first opening coastal areas approved by State Council.
It covers an overall area of 1,880 square kilometers and has a population of 580,000,
with 176 kilometers of coastline. The jurisdiction of Ninghai encompasses 17 towns.
It is an establishing trial county of state ecological demonstration, with beautiful
environment. In 2000, the GDP of Ninghai recorded RMB 6.362 billion Yuan, and
the total output of industrial & agricultural reached RMB 20.98 billion Yuan,
while the financial revenue income was 0.48 billion Yuan. The average income of
urban dwellers was RMB 13,926 Yuan.
The
local industrial economy with complete setup has been developed rapidly, which
is pillared by six majorities as textile, mechanics, rubber, plastics, electronics,
and metal products. Among local enterprises, HuaLian Textile, Jinghai Chemical
and Shuanglin Group have been developing soundly with its enlarged scale. Many
products like YiXiu Children's clothes and Daliangshan Beer and XiLin Transportation
Facilities etc. Spang out, earning good reputation in both domestic and abroad
markets. The annual local industrial output has accomplished 18.173 billion yuan
in 2000.
Ninghai has favorable geographical location and developed
transportation & telecommunication facilities, only 64Km south to Lishe International
Airport, while its coastal harbors connect with Ningbo and Shanghai and Dalian
in the north and Wenzhou and Xiamen and Hongkong in the south, and the expressway
& highway link it up with other parts of China. With advanced telecom facilities,
SPC telephone and fax and optical cable are all available.
The export-oriented
economy keeps steady development. In 2000, total self-import & sel-export
volume valued USD 183 million, of which self-export volume hit USD 164 million.
Export-oriented products have reached over 200 varieties. Actual foreign investment
reaches USD 284 million by the end of 2000. Ninghai also enters Top 10 foreign
investment using counties of Zhejiang Province.

Ninghai
Economic Development Zone of Zhejiang Province Ninghai
Economic Development Zone, a provincial level economic development zone having
been approved by Zhejiang province, was set up in 1994 with an original planned
land area of 6.2 square kilometers. A
favorable investment environment with bright prospects has come into being through
years of construction in accordance with principals of 'integrated planning, reasonable
layout, step-by-step construction, and snowballing development'. Around 120-odd
Chinese or foreign funded enterprises have been attracted by the perfect basic
facilities and service agencies here, with their joining in, an industrial structure
pillared by major industries of mould, electronics, plastics, and stationery has
been set up.
Along with
set of New Chengguan Town and in order to speed up urbanization
and enhance economic turnout, the county government modulated
its construction plan, founded Technological Industry Park
and New-rising Industry Park under the original development
zone in 2000.

Technological Industry Park
Technological Industry Park is located at the center
of New Chengguan Town, with a land area of 5.0 square kilometers
and planned investment in infrastructure facilities of RMB
0.4 billion yuan, is an industrial area mated with service
facilities of residential district, trade center, school,
hospital, park and etc. The hi-tech or large-scaled enterprises
are enjoyed here. Up till now, 15 enterprises in lines of
machinery, electronics and brewing have entered the park besides
five foreign funded, among them one has been put into operation,
seven are being under construction, and the other seven are
to be start construction in the near future.

New-rising Industry Park
New-rising Industry Park is located at the northern
side of Old Chengguan Town, in the original planned area of
the economic development zone, with a land area of 2.5 square
kilometers and planned investment in infrastructure facilities
of RMB 0.2 billion yuan. It absorbs the new-rising manufactories
in lines of machinery, mould and metal products scattering
in the counties, and establishes concentrated production and
trade area of mould and machinery, so forms macro scale effects
and market effects of local industries. Up till now 83 enterprises
have entered the park, among them 10-odd enterprises have
start construction and one foreign funded enterprise has been
put into operation.
