Fenghua city, located in the middle of Ningbo area, is the subcenter city of Ningbo and national A-class economic development area. Fenghua Economic Development Zone, located to the north of Fenghua city proper, covers a planned area of 10.9 sq.km. Set up in 1992, it has become a development zone of provincial level approved by Zhejiang Provincial People's Government in November 1993.

Through years of development and construction, there are more than 200 projects set up in the zone with a total investment of RMB 2,850 million including 47 foreign invested projects with total investment of 120 million USD.
