Ningbo Chemistry Industrial Zone is the only new chemistry zone approved by the Municipal Government, it focus on the investment inviting, the exchange of chemistry enterprises within the downtown area, and speed up the adjustment of chemistry products and organization.

The Chemistry Industrial Zone locates on the east China seashore, it is in the southern part of Yangtze delta, with a superior geographical location. It is an ideal place for fine chemistry and biological chemistry with convenient transportation and rich amount of water. The chemistry zone is close to the Beilun port - an international cargo transfer center. The handling capacity of Beilun port rank second in China, which is only next to Shanghai, the volume of freight handled in 2000 is 115,000,000 tons, and number of containers handled is 1000,000. The distance between Shanghai and Beilun port is 130 sea miles, and 18 Km from Ningbo to Beilun port. The recent developing area is 2 square meters, it going to be 10 square meters in the future. No cultivated land is taken for there is enough seashore that provides wide space for development. The infrastructure in the chemistry zone is complete, with a convenient transportation, the water, power, steam supply and sewage system is sufficient enough to meet the needs.
