It is to construct 3 bases and 3 centers: 1. Seed and
seed plant base, including the introduction and breeding new
strains, such as aquatic products, livestock, fruits, vegetables,
flowers & plants; 2. Factory production base of vegetables,
melons & fruits and flowers & plants; 3. Garden-style
base of fruit production; 4. Livestock and aquatic products
cultivating center; 5. Agricultural resort center, including
hundred-flower-garden, hundred-fruit-garden, hundred-bird-garden,
hundred-joy-garden; 6. Agricultural products processing center,
introducing processing techniques and processing technology
of eggs, livestock, vegetable and fruit. Upon completion, the
city-like agriculture park will become a base for introducing,
testing and popularizing famous, special, high-quality and precious
varieties, high-new technology, new facilities and new machinery;
a base for putting scientific research by agricultural research
institutes and colleges and universities into practice and industrialization;
and a base of developing city-like agricultural tourist and
sight-seeing.
The annual income is estimated to be 96 million yuan
and the profit 20 million yuan. |

Ningbo Hongda
Agriculture Co., Ltd. was established in 1998, based on Hongtang
Modern Agricultural Demonstration Zone, which had been one of
the first twelve zones of its kind in Zhejiang Province. So
far, it has been developed into a comprehensive collective agricultural
enterprise composed by a key enterprise, six wholly-funded subsidiaries
and four share-holding companies. They are specialized in livestock
raising, fruit & vegetable planting, aquatic products breeding,
horticulture production, agricultural products processing, seeds
and seed-plants cultivating, agricultural tourism and real estate
development. The corporation possesses a fixed asset of 30 million
yuan and a land of 93 ha. It was awarded as the top agricultural
enterprise in Ningbo in 1998 and 1999. |

Location Advantage
|
The
location of the project neighbors Baoguo Temple and forest Park,
protection relics at state-level, in the east, Sunhu Resort
in the north, Yaojiang River, the mother river of Ningbo, to
the south and Hemudu Cultural Ruins to the west. It is 7 km
from downtown, 10 km from the entrance of Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo
Expressway, 20 km from Ningbo airport and 30 km from Beilun
deep-water port. Its advantages of convenient transportation
provide excellent condition for constructing city-like agriculture
park. |

Process of The Project
|
So
far, a total of 15 million yuan has been invested in the 1st
stage of the project to complete the development of central
zone of 107 ha. It has set up 7 scientific research bases such
as the space agricultural zone jointly established with Zhejiang
University, China Agriculture University. And the infrastructure
in the zone has been completed. |
