The
scale of construction: intended to construct two shipyards,
one for 300,000-ton ships and another for 150,000-ton ships,
as well as two outfitting docks for 300,000-ton ships and two
outfitting docks for 150,000-ton ships.
The recent years witnessed the rapid demand for various
ships in the global shipping industry, with a brisk market for
the new ship orders. The shipbuilding industry is tending to
resume its flourish in the world. The orders for VLCC, Suez
Type oil tanks, finished-oil tanks, and vessels for chemicals
and liquified petroleum gas are increasing, thus resulting in
a flourishing shipbuilding market. It is predicted that the
domestic requirements for the above ships would be gradually
increased too. If our shipbuilding industry will develop in
the light of the strong shipbuilding countries, it should strive
for opportunity to develop the large shipbuilding facilities.
At the present time, the construction of the shipbuilding base
on Daxie Island is keeping in line with the development of our
ship industry. With the favourable port condition and geographical
location, Daxie base would enjoy broad prospects for the development
of the shipbuilding industry. The project covers an area of
800,000 sq.m..
It is predicted to make 4.349 billion yuan in the annual
sales income with the annual profit of 467.1 million yuan. |
