The
scale of construction: intended to build the 20,000DWT general-purpose
berth, concurrently for 50,000-tonnage ships.
The project is planned to build the 20,000 DWT general-purpose
berth, 215 metres in length and 34 metres in width. The bridge
approach is 9 metres wide. Its annual handling days will exceeding
330 and the annual handling capacity will reach 550,000 tons.
The area will total 98,900 square metres, with 380 metres in
average land depth. The Daxie Development Zone stands opposite
Beilun Port across the river, and boasts the favourable conditions
for the port construction. The project is very necessary for
the Daxie Development Zone to create the good investment climate
and speed up the development of Daxie Development Zone.
It is predicted to make 23.4 million yuan in the annual
business income with the annual profit of 7.8 million yuan. |

CITIC Daxie
Development Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary company under
China International Trust & Investment Corporation (CITIC),
was established on Jan.11,1994 with the approval of state Economic
and Trade Commission.
Its main task is to develop land in spots on Daxie Island on
behalf of CITIC. |

Location Advantage
|
It
is intended to build a wharf at the northwest of Daxie Island
due to its favorable deep-water conditions with peaceful wave
and smooth current. The main road has been built round the island,
and infrastructures such as water and power supplies, and telecomunication,
are being carried out in accordance with its plan. Behind the
harbor lies a flat and broad hinterland, available for the mining
of stone nearby. |

Process of The Project
|
The preliminary
location prospecting work and the feasibility study evaluation
were made. The preliminary design is now under way. This project
will start to be built before April,2001. |
