The
scale of construction: Daqi-Puli section of the expressway,
124 Km in length.
Tongsan State Coastal Expressway, the key project from
the Ministry of Communications in "the 9th Five-year Plan"
period, starts from Tongjiang, Heilongjiang Province, down through
the coastal open regions, and ends at Sanya, Hainan Province,
total 5,200Km, of which 124Km expressway is within the boundaries
of Ningbo. The project is divided into two phases. The first
phase is the Daqi-Xiwu section, starting from Daqi Town in Beilun
Port on the east, linking with the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo
expressway on the west, and ending at Xiwu in Fenghua City on
the south, 50Km in lernth. This section was open to traffic
at the end of 1999. The second phase is the Xiwu-Puli section,
starting from Xiwu Town on the west, running south through Guanzhuang
Village in Ninghai County and then Puli Village in Sanmen County
into Taizhou and Wenzhou areas, thus getting access to the southern
Coastal Cities. The length totals about 74Km. It is predicted
that the whole section would be put into service by the end
of Dec.,2001. At present, all sections of the state coastal
expressway are in rapid progress. With the complete connection
of this section with the Taizhou-Wenzhou section, the superiority
of Beilun port would be brought into full play, thus absorbing
a large number of vehicles into this expressway. Meanwhile,
the project will be connected with the great bridge across Hangzhou
Bay under the plan. As soon as the great bridge is built, the
project is no doubt that the investment will be of great value
to investors.
It is anticipated that the annual business income would
be 337.12 million yuan with the annual profit of 155.94 million
yuan. |

The Chinese
partner is Ningbo Communication Investment & Development
Co., Ltd., which is the state-run solely-funded company under
Ningbo Communication Commission. The registered capital is 320
million Yuan. The scope of operation includes investment, trust
investment & management of road, bridges, stations, berths,
airports and other communication infrastructure and auxiliary
facilities. With the support from relevant municipal departments,
the company has been constantly developed. It is holding and
purchasing the shares of several road projects, and playing
an important role in local communication construction. |

Location Advantage
|
Located
at the coastal developed areas, the expressway has a crowded
stream of vehicles with a high passenger yield. Meantime, the
project will bring the superiority of Beilun port into full
play and promote the economic intercourse among the coastal
open areas. |

Process of The Project
|
The Daqi-Xiwu
section at the first phase, about 50Km in length, was put into
service. The second phase is the Xiwu-Puli section, of which
the Guanzhuang-Puli section was built on Dec.16,2000,and the
Xiwu-Guanzhuang section will be open to traffic by the end of
2001. |
