MS HCM Graduate Student Team Scores at Healthcare Executives College Bowl 2016
Congratulations to our MS HCM graduate student team (Timothy Yee, Peter Van, Taranjit Raina and Tony Caldera) for competing in the Western Regional Healthcare Executives College Bowl Case Study Competition on April 8, 2016 in Downtown Los Angeles. We are proud that our MS HCM team was one of only 12 teams among dozens of Healthcare Management graduate programs in the Western states to participate in the most rigorous case competition in the field. Professor Barry Hunt coached and Professor Andre Avramchuk advised the team to this achievement. The College of Business and Economics couldn't be more proud of you!
This was part of the Healthcare Executives (HCE) Annual College Bowl. A panel of 7 hospital administrators from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) judge the teams. The Cal State LA team presented solutions to turn around a fiscally challenged hospital in compliance with the new health reform law. They compared the financial and operational strengths and weaknesses of many regional hospitals. They also obtained valuable career advancement advice from networking with the leaders of ACHE and the other campuses.
