Hello everyone! It’s good to be a part of this learning team! My name is Mark Romejko and I am currently employed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA. as a Business Manager. I have been at JPL for 30+ years. My first position at JPL was in an Academic Part Time (APT) position doing documentation and filing. During this time I completed my AA (from Pasadena City College) and my BSBA (from the University of Redlands). After completing my undergraduate work I moved into a Financial Analyst position at JPL. I was able to use my education and directly apply it to my work. This enabled me to “pay back” the investment that JPL made in my education so that was very satisfying!
After a few years away from school, I decided to pursue my MBA at Pepperdine University. This was a fantastic learning experience for me as I was able to develop my leadership skills by being exposed to the latest trends and tools that were being used in the field of Business Management.
After receiving my graduate degree, I accepted a position as a Business Administration Manager because it offered me the opportunity to utilize all of the skills that I had obtained in my previous positions as well as enabling me to implement some of the business tools, applications, and theories that I was exposed to in the MBA program. Approximately ten years later, with my children old enough to be (relatively!) self-sufficient, I completed my Doctorate. I have been teaching ever since.
I am married with two grown children, Jennifer and Christopher. I have also been (very) blessed with five grandchildren (Haylie, Vincent, Sidney, Sage, and Damiano)! I am originally from Boston and yes, I am definitely a Red Sox/Celtics/Bruins/Patriots fan! I spend all of the time that I can, playing with my grandchildren and reading. I look forward to this challenge and I anticipate learning from and with each one of you!
