Biography

R. Duncan M. Pelly is an assistant professor of management in the College of Business and Economics at California State University Los Angeles.  He received his Ph.D. in management with a focus on entrepreneurship from EM Lyon Business School.  He served in the United States Army for four and a half years, attaining the rank of Captain, before beginning his doctoral studies.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in International Relations, French, and German.  His current interests include entrepreneurial opportunity, adhocracies, autoethnography, entrepreneurial leadership, and philosophical foundations of entrepreneurship.

Accomplished and dedicated scholar currently serving as an assistant professor of management. Utilizes perspectives from a humanities and social science academic background to inform research interests in entrepreneurial opportunity, adhocracies, autoethnography, entrepreneurial philosophy, and the process of entrepreneurship. Applies professional experience as a military officer to bridge praxis and theory and engage student interest and responsiveness during current lectureships in strategic management, resulting in unrivaled pedagogical success.
