The CSULA Cheerleading Squad is still relatively new to the campus. It consists of two components - Cheerleaders and the Golden Eagle Mascot.

These spirit ambassadors are requested to attend and perform at volleyball and basketball games as well as at special events throughout the year.

• CHEERLEADERS - Dependent on the talent that appears for tryouts; strong arm motions, flexibility, strength for jumps, and stunting skills are required. Tumbling experience is a positive but not a requirement
• GOLDEN EAGLE MASCOT - The school mascot appears at athletic events and other campus events upon request. Photo opportunities and dancing with the crowd are "his" specialties.*

*Mascot candidates must have great endurance, a sense of humor, and basic dance skills (i.e. Rhythm).

Tryouts for all roles occur on an annual basis and as needed otherwise throughout the year.
