What's Next for Fall 2015?

For High School Seniors

Thank you for applying to Cal State L.A. for Fall 2015! Here are a few things to keep in mind as you transition to the University—please pay particular attention to the deadlines.


  • CA HIGH SCHOOL EXIT EXAM. All California public school students are required to pass the CAHSEE! Without it, you will not be able to enroll at any CSU campus. 
  • MyCSULA. Please activate your myCSULA Identity today! This account will provide access to campus networks, your Cal State L.A. email, myCSULA portal, and much more. Questions? Call the ITS Help Desk at (323) 343-6170.
  • GET. Check your status by visiting Golden Eagle Territory (GET) at https://get.calstatela.edu and then click on Eagle iView Sign-In to view your “To Do List”, financial aid, and contact information. This information is listed under Self Service-Student Center. To sign in to GET, use your CIN and PIN:

Username—replace first 2-digits of CIN with a ‘W’      

Password—‘GET’ followed by 4-digit PIN

  • EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM (EOP). EOP provides first generation college students with support and advisement. The EOP application deadline was November 30, 2014; the supporting documentation deadline is March 2, 2015. For more information, please contact EOP at (323) 343-3214.
  • EPT/ELM. Unless exempt, you are required to take the English Placement test (EPT)/ Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam as soon as possible. To sign up for the exam(s), visit https://ept-elm.ets.org. For information on the exams and exemption methods, please visit www.csusuccess.org. You can take the EPT/ELM placement exams at any CSU campus.

  • HONORS COLLEGE. The Honors College provides well-prepared and motivated students with a rigorous interdisciplinary, intellectual college experience. Scholarships are also available. The priority application deadline for the 2015-16 Honors College application is January 31, 2015. For more information, visit www.calstatela.edu/academic/honorscollege.
  • CHANGES TO YOUR APPLICATION. Visit www.calstatela.edu/univ/admiss/appupdate.php to learn how to update your admission application. The update deadline is February 16, 2015.
  • CAMPUS TOURS. Tours are offered Monday-Friday, at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. To schedule a free tour, call (323) 343-3175, or email tours@calstatela.edu.
  • CONTACT ADMISSIONS. If you have any questions about your admissions, please call (323) 343-3901, or email checkapp@calstatela.edu. Also, please regularly check your email and GET for notices.


  • FINANCIAL AID. Complete and file the 2015-16 FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov, by no later than March 2, 2015. Prior to completing the FAFSA online, request a PIN by visiting www.pin.ed.gov. For Cal Grant, also submit the GPA verification to the CA Student Aid Commission. Cal State L.A.’s school code is 001140.
  • SCHOLARSHIPS. Cal State L.A. offers on- and off-campus scholarships. The General Scholarship Application should be available beginning in January 2015. For more information, call the Center for Student Financial Aid at (323) 343-6260, or visit  www.calstatela.edu/financialaid/scholarships.

ADMITTED – Now What?

  • HOUSING. We offer apartment-style residences for students. Housing applications are usually available beginning in March 2015. Go online to www.calstatela.edu/housing/signup.php. Housing is limited, so, turn in your application and deposit ASAP. Questions? Contact Housing Services at (323) 343-4800.
  • ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATION DEPOSIT (ECD). All new students must turn in your deposit of $100 (non-refundable, non-transferrable) by May 1, 2015. This deposit will be applied to your Fall 2015 tuition. For more information, visit www.calstatela.edu/univ/admiss/ECD.php.


  • EARLY START PROGRAM. Get an early start on your college English and Math courses! If you require additional preparation for English and Math, you will be required to take Early Start classes during the summer before your freshman year at the University. Additional details will be sent to eligible students after the submission of the Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD). For more information, visit www.calstatela.edu/univ/admiss/estart.
  • NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION. All new freshmen are required to attend New Student Orientation. Information will be sent to you in early June 2015. Please register and pay for Orientation by July 1, 2015. Questions? Call (323) 343-3195, or email orientation@calstatela.edu.
  • FINAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS. Send official transcripts after your high school graduation, by no later than July 15, 2015, unless requested to do earlier. Coursework through Spring 2015 will be considered for admissions. Official ACT/SAT test scores are also due July 15th. Please view your GET Self-Service Student Center To Do List for missing documents, and their associated deadlines.   • FINANCIAL AFFIDAVIT. For I-20 issuance, international (F/J visa) applicants must submit a completed International Student Financial Affidavit, with supporting financial documents, to the International Office. For more information, including the affidavit submission deadline, visit www.calstatela.edu/international/other-information-0.

If you are currently already in the United States on an I-20, after you are offered admissions, ask your current school’s advisor to transfer your SEVIS record to Cal State L.A. by submitting the Cal State L.A.   • INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION. New international students are required to attend the International Student Orientation in September 2015. For more information, contact the International Office at (323) 343-3170, or via email at international@calstatela.edu.


  1. January 31, 2015: Honors College Application, 2015-16 (optional)
  2. February 16, 2015: Updates to your admissions application (optional)
  3. March 2, 2015: 2015-16 FAFSA application & Cal Grant GPA Verification (optional)
