Meet the Student Athlete Advisors

mike alejandre Mike Alejandre is a proud Golden Eagle. In Spring 2016, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Management. As a recent alumnus, he is a passionate, longtime supporter of the Cal State LA family. He says to have had incredible experience as a student at his alma mater and only wishes to help others have that same experience.

As a student, he was involved in various clubs and organizations on campus that truly made his college experience. He served as the Spirit Commissioner of Student Government for the Associated Students Incorporated (ASI); Director of Public Relations for the Hispanic Business Society; and member of the Marketing Club. He has also had the opportunity to build his career as a university liaison in different capacities here at Cal State LA: from guiding prospective students through the application process as a Campus Ambassador; to introducing students and their families to our beautiful university as a Campus Tour Guide; to welcoming the incoming freshmen and transfers through the University Orientation Program; collaborating with the Office for Students with Disabilities in assisting students requiring special accommodations; and most recently, serving as the Student Success Liaison for the Soar in 4 graduation initiative to encourage students to a timely graduation. Through his involvement on campus, he was awarded the Asian Pacific Islander Scholarship, the Art Laboe Foundation Scholarship, and the Outstanding Cal State LA Student Leader Award of 2016.

In his current role as an Academic Advisor for student athletes, he strives to develop a stronger connection amongst students and the entire Cal State LA community to support the university’s graduation initiatives. As the first in his family to graduate with a college degree, he is deeply committed to empowering our students to achieve their goals and succeed. He believes success is not to be measured by how much you have climbed but by how many people you bring up with you. Mike is your dedicated advisor for Baseball and Women's Golf. [email protected]
