Students at Long Beach Indie Film Festival KCACTF Irene Ryan Finals Round Winners Students Attending Hollywood Fringe Festival
  • Congratulations to MFA/Acting Option Adam Ferguson for receiving the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival/ Association of Theatre in Higher Education Innovative Teaching Award for 2020.  The prize is awarded to any graduate student displaying outstanding innovative work in regard to their studies and/or research.

  • Congraulations to MFA/ Acting Option Jeremy Leochner for being cast in the TAD Spring 2020 production of the musical Sweeney Todd directed by Faculty member Meredith Greenberg.  

  • Congraulations to MFA/ Acting Option Matt Stepan for being cast in Dreaming of Our Future/Soñando de Nuestro FuturoThe premiere of this new play focuses on the plight and challenges faced by our DACA and immigrant communities.

  • Congratulations to MFA/Acting Option students Te'Juana Johnson and Jeremiah Ripley for making it to the Finals Round of the KCACTF Region VIII Irene Ryan Competition. 

  • Congratulations to MFA/Writing Option student Grace Murphy, hired to write a new TV movie entitled "Christmas Hotel" for Lifetime Television Network. 

  • Congratulations to MFA/Writing Option student Martin Castillo. His film, BAILE CON EL DIABLO, which already screened at the 5th Annual Long Beach Indie International Film Festival this past September 2018 as well as the Imperial Valley Film Festival and Artists Showcase in October 2018, is now a Semi-Finalist for the Gold Movie Awards in London! Additional Congratulations MFA/Production Option student: Tai-Lynia Jones (Director), Alex Hackworth, (Director of Photography), Iris Xiao, Sean Trew and Christopher Collins.

  • Congratulation to the following six MFA/Acting Option students nominated to compete in the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF Region 8) Irene Ryans Acting Scholarship competition based on their performances in the Spring 2018 productions of The Dead Guy and Hamlet:  Adam Ferguson, Te'Juana Johnson, Jess Jones, Rob Lacrone, Jeremiah Ripley and Jessica Beron. They will compete in Los Angeles February 12-February 16.  Winners of the regional festival will go on to the National Competition at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.   

  • Congratulations to MFA/Acting Option students Jessica Beron, Jeremiah Ripley, Jeremy Leochner, Amy Shu and Matt Stepan, cast in the TAD Spring 2019 production of She Kills Monsters with guest director, Sara Guerrero.  Guerreo is a regionally and nationally recognized director, showcased in American Theatre Magazine's "Roll Call - People to Watch."

  • Congratulations to MFA/Acting Option student Jess Jones, cast in the TAD Spring 2019 production The Unseen Hand with faculty director, Steve Rothman.  Visit the Theater and Dance Department website to purchase tickets for these productions, and all of the events being offered for Spring 2019.

  • Congratulations to the following MFA/Acting Option students Amy Shu and Eric Lauritzen cast in We, the Invisibles by Susan Soon He Stanton, directed by MFA/Prodluction Alumna, Randee Trabitz

  • Congratulation to MFA/Acting Option student Jess Jones, Te'Juana Johnson and Adam Ferguson cast in the TAD Fall 2018 production of Antigone by Sophocles, with faculty director, James Hatfield.
