Professor Vianello received his Ph.D from the Theater, Film and Television School at UCLA. His primary field of expertise is American television: how television represents gender, ethnicity and class, television advertising, the economics of television programming, and the impact of television on American politics, religion and law. He occasionally serves as an Expert Witness in legal matters concerning the field of his expertise. He is from the South Side of Chicago.
