Prof. Jon Beaupré received his MFA from New York University after receiving his BA from the University of Nevada, Reno. He worked many years as a freelance radio journalist, reporting from such far flung locations as the Galapagos Islands, Paris, Kolkota, and various locations in Peru, Brazil and Mexico. His work has received awards from the National Federation of Community Broadcasters, The Associated Press. Radio & TV Association, and the Los Angeles Press Club where he was a board member as well as the Ruben Salazar award from the California Chicano News Media Association. He has worked many years as a mentor at the annual APTRA Academy, and as a voice and performance coach at conventions and radio/TV stations across the country. He is the former Associate Chair for Journalism in the Dept. of TV, Film & Media Studies at Cal State LA.
