Welcome. The Academic Scheduling Office coordinates the composition and publication of the Quarterly Class Schedule for the University community, maintains the on-line course inventory curriculum file and the term course sections which support the student's registration and academic record. In addition, the Academic Scheduling Office makes reservations of instructional space and insures compliance of the data base requirements mandated by the Chancellor's Office.

Course Abbreviations.
Each academic discipline has an official course abbreviation that appears on grade reports and transcripts, in the course listings in this schedule, and in the catalog. These abbreviations are listed below, arranged alphabetically by the full names of the disciplines.

University Scheduling Office:
Course Numbering System
Undergraduate, graduate, and noncredit courses are numbered as shown below.
| 000-099 | Subcollegiate courses (no credit toward academic degrees). |
| 100-299 | Lower division courses (freshman and sophomore level). |
| 300-399 | Upper division courses (junior and senior level) that yield no graduate credit. |
| 400-499 | Upper division courses (junior and senior level) that may yield credit toward graduate degrees. |
| 500-599 | Graduate courses for graduate students only. |
| 600-699 | Doctoral courses open only to students in Ph.D. program in Special Education. |
| 900-999 | Noncredit courses open to graduate students only (no credit toward degrees). |

Course Suffixes
Many courses have letter suffixes that appear right after the number. Although some indicate special uses of the course within a particular department or division, others are standard through the campus.
| A,B,C,D,E | A course sequence in which A must be taken before B, B before C, etc., unless catalog descriptions indicate otherwise. |
| L | Lecture. |
| M | Open only to students in M.F.A. degree program in Art. |
| N | Upper division course intended for students not majoring in that discipline; usually has different kinds of prerequisites; student in major may not count course in major program, but may include it as an elective outside the major. |
| P | Practicum, laboratory, or activity. |
| R | Open only to conditionally classified graduate students. |
University Scheduling Office:
Final examinations or final class meetings are required in all courses and
shall be held at the times listed in the regularly scheduled classrooms.
Any exception in time or place requires written approval of the instructor,
department/ division chair, and school dean. Students who find it impossible
to take the final examination at the scheduled time may, with written approval
of the instructor, department/ division chair, and school dean, have a special
final examination administered.
