Services or activities: Team mentoring for middle school children throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Ages and ethnicity of those served: Latino and African American middle school students.

Length of minimum commitment: Prefer volunteers begin in fall and volunteer for the full school year, but will accept volunteers on short-term basis.

Hours per week: 2 hours, weekend and evening hours available.

Formal training program: 8 hour training program including orientation is conducted on 10 Saturdays in Fall, but can be scheduled as needed.

Personal qualities of volunteers: Strong commitment, good listener, and leadership ability.

Additional requirements:  Fingerprinting and TB test.

Direct supervision: Yes

Supervision entails: Student meet with supervisors at each mentoring session.
