Contact hours: Monday thru Friday 9:30 am to 5pm

Services or activities: Multipurpose Community Center: Parenting classes in Spanish and English, After school program for 1st-5th grades, LA bridges program for 6th-12th grades, free food program providing food and free resources.

Ages and ethnicity of those served: All Ages: 50% Latino, 30% African-American, 20% other

Length of minimum commitment: At least 5 weeks, but longer preferred.

Hours per week: At least four no more than eight.

Formal training program: No formal training, Brief orientation on program procedures and on the job-training

Personal qualities of volunteers: Caring, Patient, Resourceful

Required skills/qualities: Bilingual in Spanish, Good communication skills

Additional requirements:  No

Direct supervision: Yes, once a week for 15-30 minutes.

Supervision entails: Overseeing Student's progress and abilities. Giving the student the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback/constructive criticism.
