The Department of Psychology
Greg HarmelingThe Peer Advisement Center, in the Psychology Department, is a student resource center that specializes in advising students with academic, administrative, and career matters. In the advisement center, students help other students through their undergraduate career.
The advisement center houses many different reference materials, books, catalogs, information pamphlets, and every printer form you might need as an undergraduate. There are many books about the study of psychology, counseling, and advisement that are available to the students. Catalogs include most of the Community Colleges in the area, Universities in the State of California, and many from around the country.
Students who work as advisors receive academic credit for their time in the Advisement Center. Peer Advisement is conducted in King Hall third floor, room C3062. The Advisement Center is open between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, though these hours may vary from quarter to quarter. No appointment is necessary for general advisement, although if a student needs advisement regarding his/her records, he/she may need to schedule an appointment with one of the advisors. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, you may call the Peer Advisement Center at extension 3-2268.
