PSI CHI at CSULA:
Is a chapter of the national student organization whose purpose is to serve psychology students on a local level. Our goals are to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship amongst our students, and advance the science of psychology. Our continuing efforts are aimed at nourishing and stimulating professional growth through programs designed to augment and enhance the regular curriculum and to provide practical experience and fellowship.
PSI CHI provides a student office where relevant information regarding conferences, conventions, scholarships, or research opportunities open to psychology students and PSI CHI members is regularly posted.
Qualifications for PSI CHI membership at CSULA are identical to those of the national headquarters: completion of 5 quarters of college courses; completion of 9 semester hours/14 quarter hours of psychology, registration for major or minor standing in psychology; overall GPA of 3.0 for undergraduates; average GPA of "B" or better for graduate students; high standards of personal behavior; two-thirds affirmative vote of those present at regular chapter meetings.
Requirement for involvement in the Psychology Association is to simply be a psychology major and interested in uniting with other students of similar discipline.
