POSITION: One tenure-track Assistant Professor in 18th-century British LiteratureSTARTING DATE: Fall 2014
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in English with a concentration in British Literature of the Long 18th Century. Candidates must have Ph.D. conferred by position start date in Fall 2014. Candidates should provide evidence of scholarly activity, involving students whenever possible, as well as the demonstrated potential for effective teaching using a variety of methodologies. Candidates should also demonstrate an ability or interest in teaching in a multi-ethnic, multicultural urban campus.
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should be able to teach a wide range of courses in the Long 18th Century as well as general education courses and composition.
DUTIES: In addition to teaching, duties include student advisement and committee service for the Department, College of Arts and Letters, and the University.

SALARY: Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
