DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING

Position: One tenure track position, rank open depending upon experience and expertise, with possibility of credit toward tenure.

Starting Date: September 2013

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited institution of higher education with expertise in tax accounting. Candidates without a doctorate need three years of full-time experience other than teaching, and either: (1) LLM in taxation and a CPA or CMA certification; or (2) JD and a business or accounting master's degree with a concentration in taxation or accounting and/or a CPA certificate and passage of the state bar examination. Candidates must be academically qualified according to the AACSB standards. Candidates must demonstrate a record of or potential for publication in refereed journals involving students whenever possible, as well as the demonstrated potential for effective teaching using a variety of methodologies. Candidates must also demonstrate an ability or interest in teaching in a multicultural, multiethnic environment.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Department prefers professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFE, etc.) and professional experience in accounting and/or the tax profession.

Duties: In addition to teaching and scholarly activity, duties include student advisement and committee service to the Department, the College of Business and Economics, and the University.

Salary Range: Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
