Position: FWS Graduate Assistant for the School of Nursing.

Starting Date: Immediate.

Minimum Qualifications: Degree-seeking graduate student in a related discipline to Nursing to provide support to the School of Nursing Faculty, Admissions and Program Coordinators. Graduate Assistants must be registered in a CSU graduate degree program and must be enrolled in courses towards the completion of that graduate degree during the appointment period.  Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.  Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with the university and Microsoft office applications.

Hiring Criteria: Baccalaureate degree in a related field.  Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff, students and faculty.  Ability to use Microsoft office applications.  Ability to handle qualitative and quantitative data.

Duties: Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting nursing faculty members with various professional and technical duties. The Graduate Assistant will provide support to faculty for large lecture classes, proctoring of exams, photocopying etc. The Graduate Assistant will assist with the preparation of course and program materials. The Graduate Assistant may provide assistance with small group instruction or programmatic information sessions. The Graduate Assistant will assist faculty with programmatic support such as the applicant admission process. This will involve the evaluation of student’s prior work. Will be responsible for accurately tracking and responding to inquiries on GPA calculation, official transcript(s) logging, letters of recommendation completion, pre-requisite class approval.  Graduate Assistant will provide material required for the School of Nursing graduate fairs for the School of Nursing admission coordinator. Will be interacting with university faculty and staff at all levels.

Salary Range: Current Graduate Assistant rate for an average of 20 hours per week.
