Position: Graduate Assistant

Starting Date: On-going.

Minimum Qualifications: Degree-seeking graduate student in the Department of Child and Family Studies to provide instructional assistance for undergraduate courses. Graduate Assistants must be registered in a CSU graduate degree program and must be enrolled in courses towards the completion of that graduate degree during the appointment period.  Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment. Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the discipline of child and family studies, knowledge of developmental issues associated with children and families in urban communities, experience working independently in a fast paced environment.

Hiring Criteria: Enrollment in the MA program in the Department of Child and Family Studies, making substantive progress towards degree, capacities to engage and work well with others and to function autonomously and collaboratively, substantial knowledge of discipline.

Duties: Under the general supervision of the Department Chair and individual faculty  graduate assistants will provide instructional assistance for specific courses within the Department.

Salary Range: Current Graduate Assistant rate for an average of 5 hours per week.
