Position: Graduate Assistant
Starting Date: January, 2010
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge and skills in the areas of data analysis, working with data files, and writing reports. Experience using Excel and SPSS programs. Applicant must be registered in a CSULA graduate degree program related to statistics, or data analysis (e.g. statistics, math, education or related field) and must be enrolled in course toward completing the graduate degree during the appointment period. Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multi-ethnic, multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work as an independent member of a team; conduct quantitative and qualitative research, write reports of results; and use various computer software packages including Excel and statistical software (eg. SPSS).
Duties: Under the general supervision of the University Assessment Coordinator, the Graduate Assistant will provide assistance in conducting data analysis and report writing as well as support for the on-going University assessment activities. Specific activities include coordinating institutional assessment surveys, compiling, tabulating and reporting statistical data and supporting assessment and evaluation activities.
Salary: $18 per hour, 10-15 hours a week.
