Position: |
Teaching Assistant – The department periodically has
several TA positions available in laboratory sections of courses in both
Biology and Microbiology. |

Starting Date: |
September 20, 2007 (Fall 2007);
January 2, 2008 (Winter 2008); March 24, 2008 (Spring 2008); June 16, 2008 (Summer, 2008).

Minimum Qualifications: |
A Bachelor’s degree in a Biological Science, or closely related field, from an accredited institution of higher education is required. Applicant must be a degree-seeking graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences. Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, have the potential for excellent teaching, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment. |

Duties: |
Under supervision of faculty, successful candidates will
teach laboratory sections of undergraduate Biology and/or Microbiology
labs. They will be required to attend
weekly meetings with the lab coordinator for the class and they may be
expected to attend the lecture associated with the lab that they are teaching. |

Salary: |
Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. |
