Graduate Assistant for the course POLS 150- Government in American Society. |

Minimum Qualifications: |
Enrollment in the Political Science M.A. or MSPA program. Applicant
must have the ability to work in a multiethnic, multicultural
environment. Must possess good library
research, writing, people/social skills as well as an ability to mentor
undergraduate students. |

Preferred: Qualifications: |
Desire for a career in college
teaching. |

Duties: |
Under the general supervision of the faculty member, the
Graduate Assistant will provide assistance in the instruction of students by conducting
small discussion groups related to large lectures course activities, may
assist in handling equipment, maintaining office hours to provide direct
individual contact between student and graduate assistant, clarifying course
material or course content for students. Will perform clerical or other
routine tasks such as duplicating, contacting students when necessary,
grading examinations, recording grades, etc.; assisting faculty with research
and preparation of course materials; participating in the evaluation of
students’ work; and other related tasks. |

Salary: |
Current Graduate Assistant rate for an average of five hours per week. |

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Political Science offers a BA in Political Science and two masters degree programs; MA in Political Science and MS in Public Administration. |
