Position: |
Graduate Assistant The department periodically has Graduate Assistant positions available in Sex and Gender (Biol 388N) and Anatomy and Physiology (Biol 200A/B) courses. The department also has a GA position available for an individual who maintains the aquarium room and live animals required for Introductory Biology (Biol 100A), and another GA position to assist laboratory preparations for Immunology and Serology (Micr 304).

Minimum Qualifications: |
Enrollment in the Master’s degree program in Biology. Applicants for all positions should have demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment. For the Biol388N and Biol200A courses, applicants should have previous coursework and/or academic experience in the topic area, and should have good writing skills. For the Biol100A position, applicants should have experience working with aquaria and invertebrate marine organisms. The applicant for the microbiology laboratory position should have a strong foundation in laboratory skills including media and solution preparation and aseptic technique. |

Duties: |
Graduate Assistants will assist the Instructor in grading exams and papers required for the course. For the Introductory Biology course (Biol 100A) the Graduate Assistant will maintain the aquarium room and provide live animals as required for the class. For Immunology and Serology (Micr 304), the Graduate Assistant will assist in setup and preparation of laboratory materials for the course.
