Minimum Qualifications:

 

Earned doctorate or ABD in Social Work/Social Welfare or closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education. Doctorate is required for tenure and appointment at the Associate and Full rank.   All candidates must have an MSW from an accredited program and three or more years of post-MSW practice experience.  We seek an individual with qualifications to teach courses in forensic social work and at least one other area: human behavior and the social environment, mental health, micro/macro practice, child welfare, research/statistics, policy, and/or aging. The successful candidate will have demonstrated potential for effective teaching using a variety of methodologies, demonstrated ability and interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment and potential for research, scholarly and/or creative activity involving students.

 

 

 

Preferred: Qualifications:

 

University teaching experience; track record or potential for success in securing external funding; publications in refereed journals; five or more years of post-MSW practice experience; ability to supervise masters thesis projects and experience working with diverse urban communities.

 

 

 

Duties:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in forensic social work and other areas. Advise students, participate in university and community service, conduct research, develop grant proposals, and publish scholarly papers.


 

 

Salary:

Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
