Position:

Librarians (Temporary, Part-Time Reference and Instruction Applicant Pool)

 

 

Starting Date:

AS NEEDED
 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

MLS degree from an ALA Accredited institution.  Demonstrated recent reference experience using print and electronic resources.  Demonstrated effective teaching experience in a classroom setting.  Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English.  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently.  Demonstrated commitment to user-centered service and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. Ability to work nights and weekends.

 

 

Preferred: Qualifications:

Demonstrated recent reference and instruction experience in an academic library setting.  Possess proficiency in Spanish or an Asian language.

 

 

Duties:

Provide general information and subject specific reference service at the reference and information desk.  Assist, as needed, in teaching in the Library’s instructional programs.
 

 

Salary:

Appointments are made at the rank of Senior Assistant Librarian.  Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
