ORSP LIST OF SERVICES AND TIMELINE

FOR PROPOSAL SUBMITTAL

1. As soon as you decide to submit a proposal, please contact the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs so we can prepare for your needs.

2. Take time, and give us time. Calculate two to three months for a worthy proposal. Stuff off the top sometimes makes it; but more often, does not. The best proposals are thought out clearly, designed in detail, and follow the requirements of an RFP precisely.

3. The Director is available, should you wish, to assist on all phases of your project. She can help you shape and focus your plan as it develops, find the right sources for your project, and help write and edit.

4. Typing, word processing, and formatting proposals can be done by this office if we have your draft 15 working days before the deadline. We can also assist in creating appendices, charts and graphs, etc. These processes take time. So, please make sure your start with number 1 on this list.

5. Printing proposals can be done by this office on a laser printer; make arrangements at least 15 days before the deadline. We can handle proposals written on IBM or Macintosh in most common formats. If you use special software, our staff will work with you to print your proposal.

6. Duplicating three copies of your proposal will be done by this office at our expense. If the only assistance you need from this office is duplicating and packaging, we still need your proposal five working days before the deadline.

7. Packaging and Mailing will be done by this office, if your proposal is given to us according to the established deadlines. In all cases, we will try to accommodate you; however, if you bring in your materials too late, you may have to mail them yourself. We will reimburse you for the cost, if it is within reason.
