 GRANTS RESOURCE CENTER

This electronic service (based in Washington DC) provides information as well as individualized assistance to faculty to help them identify external support. More specifically, the campus receives the following items via email, which we can forward to you if you are interested in receiving any one or all of them:

-GRC Deadlines, a monthly publication of proposal submission deadlines for the next three months.

-GRC Bulletin, a four-times weekly alert highlighting notices and late-breaking news from the Federal Register, Commerce Business Daily, National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Health, with access to full agency announcements.

-GRC Reports, a weekly newsletter featuring in-depth articles on strategies for competitiveness in a variety of grant programs and current interests of private funding sources.

Please let me know if you want to be included on an email list to receive directly any or all of the items described above, or if you need additional information.

In addition to these items, GRC members (CSLA faculty and staff) have access to:

-GrantSearch Database, a database of funding programs.

-Web Site (password protected), http://www.calstatela.edu/academic/orsp/GRC/Grant%20Resource%20Center.htm restricted to CSLA (and other GRC) members. It is updated throughout the day and provides a wealth of information about grant opportunities, funding alerts, new program guidelines etc. NIS account holders can obtain the necessary login name and password by going to the ORSP site. Others may contact ORSP at 3-5366.

-Individualized assistance from a GRC staff member assigned to our campus who will respond promptly to our requests.

SPIN

SPIN puts Information on your desktop. The campus is now connected to InfoEd's Sponsored Programs Information Network (SPIN) database. Through this Web site, you can search and view the Commerce Business Daily and the Federal Register. You can also complete a SPIN profile and have funding opportunities mailed to your email address. The centerpiece of the SPIN system is, however, their new SQL server database, which is a compilation of over 1,200 public and private funding agencies with 11,000 separate, up-to-the-minute funding opportunities. This database can be searched by keyword or can be browsed by discipline or sponsor.
