The Office of Research and Sponsored
Programs (ORSP) assists faculty and staff in applying for
extramural funding, primarily, though not exclusively, from
government agencies. The Office provides services at all stages of
the proposal submission and pre-award process, including budget
preparation; project conceptualization and development; assistance
with writing, research, and editing; connections with other
academic institutions, government and community agencies, and
businesses and industry; and proposal technical preparation and
submission. We invite you to tour our office and learn more about
our services at any time, whether you just have a great idea but
don’t quite know how to turn it into a competitive proposal, or if
you know what to propose but need help finding one or more funding
source, or if you have identified the perfect program announcement
and are ready to submit.
We are here to help. But we need
your assistance when it comes time to submit an actual proposal.
First, please start early! Make an appointment to meet with our
ORSP staff as soon as you know that you will submit an application
to a specific program, and no later than 15 working days before
the submission deadline in any case. And before that meeting,
please review the following Pre-Meeting Checklist and fill in the
Pre-Meeting Intake Form to the best of your ability. This will
make the entire process smoother and it will help us serve you
better. Thank you and we look forward to working with you on your
next grant or contract proposal.
