Students are not only instructed in the traditional repertoire but are also required to gain practical knowledge of newer genres and styles. Knowing that the majority of piano majors will have a varied career, we expect that students enrolled in the piano degree programs will gain valuable practical experience as pianists. Students are all required to perform as pianists in our music ensembles, as well as accompany fellow students in solo and ensemble performances. These experiences give our students a wide range of practical knowledge with music making in a variety of diverse music genres and styles.
