The Japan Club provides opportunities for students of Japanese and others interested in Japan to meet, plan, and participate in social, cultural, recreational, and eductional activities. Among its other activities during the 1995-96 academic year, members organized a food sale to raise funds for the Club and conducted computer tutoring sessions on the utilization of a Japanese word processing program.
During the fall, 1996, Club officers were elected. A Japanese animation film was presented, and club members attended the Japan Expo in Los Angeles. Fundraising activities are being planned for the current academic year, as well as efforts for social and cultural exchanges with students from Japan.
