Information about the Modern Language Lab
The Modern Language Lab is available for students who wish to learn foreign languages including Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. Students are able to use interactive software in audio or video format to help them learn a particular language. This lab features 30 Windows XP PC computers. Some of our language lessons are available upon request for students that provide us with their own blank CDs. The software available in this lab includes:
Divace Duo (Media Finder)
For more information please contact the Language Lab Director at (323) 343-4236.
Sanako Media Assistant is a media player which has been designed specifically for language learners. It gives users increased control over media files. You can do all the things you would normally use a media player. This player can play all types of media files including Real Media, Microsoft Windows Media, Apple Quicktime, wav, mpg, mp3, and other common media formats.
In addition, you can record your own voice while listening to a recording of a native speaker, and repeat the last phrase with the touch of a button. You can also record files to submit to your instructor in mp3 or wav formats.
Faculty and students in the MLL Department of CSULA can now download and use Sanako Media Assistant Lite on their PC's at home. You can get registration and serial number information from the Department, your MLL instructor, or the Language Lab.
For more information about Sanako Media Assistant, please visit the Sanako website or the Language Lab in KHD 1041.
