Overview of changes:
- Math 102 (College Algebra) split into Math 102 (College Algebra)
and Math 104A (Precalculus: Algebra).
- Math 103 (Trigonometry) replaced by Math 104B (Precalculus:
Trigonometry).
- New biology/microbiology math sequence introduced: Math 105/204/205.

1. Students planning to take calculus in the Math
206-209 sequence should take Math 104A and 104B.
- Math 104A (Precalculus: Algebra)- Prerequisite:
Math 91 (with C or above), a score of 50 or more on (or exemption from) the ELM exam.
- Math 104B (Precalculus: Trigonometry)- Corequisite:
Math 104A (with C or above).
- Math 104A and Math 104B may be taken in the same quarter.
- Math 206-209 (Calculus I-IIII)- Prerequisite:
Math 104A and Math 104B (with C or above)
- To register in Math 104A, 104B or 206, you must
have completed all prerequisites within the past year. Otherwise, you will need to take
the corresponding exit exam.
- Exit exams for Math 91, 104A and 104B are available at the

2. Students in the BS in Biology and BS in
Microbiology programs should take Math 104A and Math
105 as prerequisites for the Math 204/205 applied calculus
sequence.
- Math 104A (Precalculus: Algebra)- Prerequisite:
Math 91 (with C or above), a score of 50 or more on (or exemption from) the ELM exam.
- Math 105 (Introduction to Mathematical Models in
Biology)- Prerequisite: Math 104A (with
C or above).
- Math 204/205 (Applied Calculus I/II)- Prerequisite: Math
105 (with C or above).
- The BS in Biology program requires both Math 204 and Math
205. The BS in Microbiology program requires only Math 204.
- To register in Math 104A or 105, you must have completed
all prerequisites within the past year. Otherwise, you will
need to take the corresponding exit exam.

3. Students in the BA in Economics, BS in Food
Science and Technology, and BS in Industrial Technology (Industry
Track) programs should take Math 104A as a prerequisite for Math
242.
- Math 104A (Precalculus: Algebra)- Prerequisite:
Math 91 (with C or above), a score of 50 or more on (or exemption from) the ELM exam.
- Math 242 (Mathematics for Business and Economics
Majors)- Prerequisite: Math 102 or Math 104A (with C or
above).
- The BS in Food Science and Technology also requires
Math/Econ 109.
- The BA in Economics program allows Math 206 in place of
Math 242.
- To register in Math 104A or 242, you must have completed
all prerequisites within the past year. Otherwise, you will
need to take the corresponding exit exam.
- Exit exams for Math 91 and Math 104A are available at the

4. Most other students should take Math 100, 102
or 109 to fulfill GE Block 4A.
